Multiple vaccinated children attending a local playgroup recently contracted chickenpox after an unvaccinated child became infected and apparently spread the virus to others, TLS has exclusively learned.
At least three additional children subsequently developed symptoms after being exposed to the initial case, the sources told TLS.
Sources indicate that the other affected children had previously received the recommended chickenpox vaccinations, though health experts note that breakthrough infections can occasionally occur in vaccinated individuals. In such cases, symptoms are generally milder than those experienced by unvaccinated patients.
Chickenpox, also known as varicella, is a highly contagious viral illness that spreads through coughing, sneezing, and direct contact with the rash or blisters of an infected individual. Common symptoms include an itchy blister-like rash, fever, fatigue, headache, and loss of appetite. The illness typically lasts between four and seven days.
There is no specific cure for chickenpox. Treatment generally focuses on relieving symptoms through rest, hydration, fever reduction, and anti-itch measures. In certain cases, particularly for those at higher risk of complications, antiviral medications may be prescribed by a healthcare provider.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that children receive two doses of the chickenpox vaccine. The first dose is typically administered between 12 and 15 months of age, with a second dose given between ages 4 and 6. Two doses are approximately 90% effective at preventing chickenpox, and vaccinated individuals who do contract the illness generally experience a much milder case.
According to federal health data, the vast majority of American children receive the recommended chickenpox vaccinations as part of the routine childhood immunization schedule. Since the vaccine’s introduction, chickenpox cases in the United States have declined dramatically, with hospitalizations and deaths becoming far less common.
Interestingly, this playgroup – like many others – has a policy which only allows vaccinated children, but somehow this particular unvaccinated child’s data slipped through.
Parents whose children may have been exposed are encouraged to monitor for symptoms and consult their pediatrician with any concerns.

Not true. In the 1800’s and early 1900’s, people were very poor and were undernourished – this applied to the vast majority of residents of the US and many countries. They had only some white potatoes and eggs from their chickens. Also, the water systems were contaminated and there were many other health issues. These were slowly improved with great effort as they became more aware of these things – bearing in mind they didn’t even know about germs in the 1800’s. By 1950, the modern standards as we know them were in place. People slowly stopped dying from measles along all that time of improvement – and deaths from all infectious diseases had stopped by then. The measles vaccines first came out in 1963 – when it was absolutely unnecessary. The gov (CDC) and Big Pharma knew all this, but capitalized on people’s fears – and people saying ‘I – or my parents/grandparents – knew someone who had died from measles’.
BTW, you know many more who died from car crashes, yet you don’t stop driving. And you know over 20 people who died in Lakewood alone from the disease called not wearing a reflector at night, yet you [may be from those] who don’t put one on. Yet, all too many continue to sacrifice their children – and coerce their students – to be sacrificed to the Molech, and they barely breathe a word to them about reflectors and bike lights (with bike lights being legally required). So, it makes lot of sense that these illnesses provide lifelong immunity – which natural measles and chicken pox etc. do, as once he has learnt the lesson, it is for life.

I’m not an ant-vaxxer, but I’d like to point out the following about how this was portrayed (please follow the logic and don’t start screaming – I’m actually siding with you anti-vaxxers for once):
We understand that vaccines are not 100% effective, but that with high rates of vaccinations, we acquire ‘herd immunity’ where an infection will not get passed on and on and on. Statistically, since very few vaccinatedpeople will get it, it will die down.
However, for the smaller picture, unimmunized people bring the risk of infecting others, since the vaccines are not 100% effective. It only stops it from spreading uncontrollably.
In this case, however, it seems to be a strain which the vaccine is not effective against, since 3 kids in the same playgroup got infected. That being said, we should not point out that it was an unvaccinated child who brought it in. It would be just as likely for a vaccinated child to have brought it in (in this specific situation).
At a young age, some children have only received the first vaacination, and were not due for the second one yet. Not being fully vaacinated yet, they are more susceptible to catching the chicken pox when exposed.

Sorry, but I actually read the book “Turtles all the way down”. It is an excellent and very well-researched book…..but it does NOT make a compelling case to not giving vaccines.

Shingles is the varicella virus laying dormant in your body. The ironic, yet beautifully designed by Hashem thing is that the way to prevent shingles is to be exposed to people (usually children) with chicken pox. It used to be that only elderly people got shingles. That’s because older people are not in contact with young children regularly. And if the kids would get sick, they’d be kept away from their elderly relatives. But young parents & middle-aged people who would be exposed to children with chickenpox would be protected from getting shingles. But these days, with children getting the vaccine and not exposing their parents & adults they come in contact with, those adults are now at risk of getting shingles.

We vaccinate to create herd immunity. So that the children that cannot receive vaccines for various reasons like cancer patients or severe allergies should not be exposed to the disease. if many people choose not to vaccinate their children there will not be herd immunity, and unfortunately children that cannot receive the vaccine will get the disease with lots of complications. Herd immunity via vaccines is a joke. There’s no herd immunity because no vaccine is full proof, just like the vaccinated kids in the playgroup who got the chickenpox from another child. The term “herd immunity” cane from the time when all children would get the childhood diseases, and then, since most kids got it, there would be a cycle of a few years when practically no children would get it.

B”H my kids were born before the chicken pox vaccine was mandatory. They all had chicken pox and had no ill effects from it. I wouldn’t give this vaccine to my kids if it wasn’t mandatory.
There are 2 questions to be addressed here: how could a vaccinated child still get the chicken pox? This vaccine comes in 2 doses. Most playgroup-age children only got one dose. Hence, they can still contract the virus. Next, we always had chicken pox! No one died! My friend’s brother was niftar from chicken pox. This virus is dangerous and deadly to two groups of people, those with low immunity and the elderly. Today, our community has much more interaction with people that are sick and grandparents and great-grandparents. Not getting this vaccine shows complete disregard to these people and is selfish and shortsighted.

Read the book The Courage to Face Covid 19 by Dr. Peter McCullough – who goes by the title the most published cardiologist in the WORLD (‘published’ meaning in prestigious medical journals). It’s a very easy book to read – written in layman’s language – not complicated medical terms, and each chapter is small enough to read in one sitting.
And obviously, any child with virus should not be next to elderly.

I am not an anti vaxxer and give my children the mandatory shots. Not too long ago my child came down with shingles. Wondering why such a young child got the shingles I asked a doctor and was informed that I can thank the varicella shot and that its very common to happen. So not instead of getting the chickenpox one time and getting the natural immunity hkbh created for a harmless virus other than a one time discomfort my child is now susceptible to shingles forever which they say is much more painful. Like I said I am not an anti vaxxers but the world has lost basic old fashion common sense.

Yes, there is no reason to turn them into pincushions because a few others have some medical issue. But granted, when a child is sick, you don’t take them to elderly people etc.
Herd immunity does not come from being vaccinated, to the contrary, it comes from being around those who have contracted the disease and are themselves immune. The community then is constantly being re exposed and their immune systems are boosted because of it. The best way to sabotage herd immunity is to get everyone vaccinated.
