NEW: Mangoes Sold At New Jersey Walmart Stores Recalled Due To Possible Salmonella Contamination

Mangoes sold at Walmart stores in New Jersey are being recalled over concerns they may be contaminated with Salmonella, the company announced.

The company is recalling hundreds of cases of mangoes distributed in New Jersey, Connecticut, New York and Pennsylvania between August 10 and August 21, 2026. The recalled mangoes were sold at Walmart locations in these four states.

The mangoes were packaged in Martina-branded cases. Individual mangoes can be identified by a light blue sticker bearing the name Agrofepac, the words “Produce of Mexico,” PLU number 4584 and UPC number 07503061948050.

The recall was initiated after U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sampling detected Salmonella in mangoes grown on the same farm as the recalled product. The sampled mangoes were not distributed in U.S. commerce, but because the recalled mangoes share the same source, Panorama Produce initiated the recall.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled mangoes.

Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, older adults, frail individuals and people with weakened immune systems. Healthy people infected with the bacteria may experience fever, diarrhea, which can sometimes be bloody, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

In rare cases, Salmonella infection can spread to the bloodstream and cause more serious illnesses, including arterial infections, endocarditis and arthritis.

New Jersey consumers who purchased size 9 mangoes at Walmart during the affected period should check the product’s sticker and UPC number to determine whether it is part of the recall.

Consumers who have recalled mangoes should dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase.

Anyone who believes they may have become ill after consuming the recalled product should contact a health care provider.
