Today, November 26, the New Jersey State Police will conduct a DWI sobriety checkpoint on the Garden State Parkway North bound at entrance 98. Motorists can expect delays while this initiative is being conducted.
In the last three years, the Garden State Parkway, from mile markers 98-115, has seen 25 alcohol involved accidents with numerous injuries as well as 5 fatalities. Data also shows that over a thousand DWI arrests have been made in the same vicinity from 2012 to September 2014.
Enhanced DWI enforcement on the Garden State Parkway will serve as a deterrent to people who may be inclined to take the wheel after having too much to drink. Keeping these individuals off the road will reduce the overall number of crashes in the area.
Troopers will be looking for signs of impairment due to alcohol or drugs. If you plan on drinking do not drive and make sure to always have a designated driver.

Thanks for posting this, now all the drunks are going to use different ways to get home including driving through more residential areas.
Another violation of the fourth amendment.
Their violating your rights when pulling you over at these checkpoints. Your not suspicious of any crime. They can ask questions but you are not obligated to answer anything. I lock my door and roll the window down about 2″ and listen. I ask for a supervisor and after ten minutes they send u off. If they detain you or pull you over with no probable suspicion their in the wrong, and most police don’t even know.
