PHOTO: In a groundbreaking meeting between two prestigious institutions, the New Jersey Chaplains Association hosted Mr. Eli Beer, founder and president of Ichud Hatzolah of Eretz Yisroel. Ichud Hatzolah is a volunteer ambulance service operating across the entire country.
The meeting took place in NJCA’s Lakewood headquarters and was attended by multiple askonim and community officials, including representatives from the township committee, Lakewood Fire Department, Lakewood Police Department, Lakewood Civilian Safety Watch and the Office of Emergency Management.
Attendees discussed with Mr. Beer different operational procedures as they pertain to their own organizations, including optimal response, smart use of technology, recruitment strategies and more. Discussions revolved around scenarios common to the different organizations, highlighting the importance of volunteerism and promoting a lively camaraderie between the various volunteer groups that make our community so great.
“One of the goals of the meeting was to facilitate proper relationships with the Israeli organization, what with so many Lakewood residents now residing in Eretz Yisroel and vice versa,” says a representative for NCJA, an organization whose mission is to create bridges and greater understanding between communities.
