If you have children, you know how stressful it is to keep a watchful eye and ensure their safety at all times. That fear can multiply exponentially when you have a pool at home. Fortunately, there is a new advanced camera system to help keep your family safe around the pool.
The SwamCam pool alarm system is an artificial intelligence-based camera system that detects and notifies when a person is near the pool area. SwamCam comes with multiple components that are designed for the pool or similar environments. Aside from the camera which is placed poolside, there is an inside alarm to alert those in the house when someone enters the pool area. The system also comes with a keypad for arming the alarm and an app for controlling the entire system.
When the system is armed, the SwamCam uses AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology through its video camera to constantly scan the pool environment for human activity. When someone unexpectedly enters the pool area, an alarm sounds in three different locations: by the pool, from the camera’s speaker; inside the home, from the wireless alarm; and remotely from any smartphone. SwamCam also implemented a two-way audio with live video so that if a child manages to sneak into a pool area, an alert goes off on the app allowing a parent to speak to the child. If there is ever danger sighted on the camera, the app has a direct dial button to call emergency services (911) or any number of your choice. The system contains many customizable features such as an auto alarm just in case you forget to arm the camera, custom keypad codes for guests, and many other functions.
The SwamCam is so advanced that it differentiates between human movement and other types of detected motion to avoid false alerts. The company recently received ASTM F2208 certification and can now be used as a pool alarm that satisfies most local municipal pool code requirements. The app also has a “Live View” button which lets you login at any time from any place with reception or Wi-Fi to see what’s going on at your pool. In case there is ever a false alarm on Shabbos, the alarm shuts off after five minutes.
Based in Montebello, NY, The SwamCam launched only about two years ago. The unit sells for $495 and has an optional premium subscription plan for additional enhanced features. Before launching, the company spent three years developing and testing their product. They continually test and update it with improvements to the software giving you peace of mind that this added layer of pool security has your safety as its number one priority.
While the SwamCam cannot prevent all drownings, it adds a significant layer of protection to a residential pool environment, which can be lifesaving.
The SwamCam is currently available at www.theswamcam.com and on various other e-commerce websites and pool supply stores.
There must be a trained lifeguard when the pool is in use.
From the headline I was hoping it would know if someone is under water for too long. Otherwise a great ad. Although easier said than done, the best solution is to cover the pool when not in use. And like this it also doesn’t get dirty. And the water and chemicals don’t evaporate. And the heat doesn’t get lost as fast. There are automatic pool covers that all you need to do is push a button and the pool gets covered. But those covers cost about half the price of a pool.
