Neighborhood Parlor Meeting Held To Benefit Relief Resources

relief parlor meetingPHOTOS: Relief Resources held a Neighborhood Parlor Meeting last night at the home of R’ Avi Feigenbaum on Glen Avenue. A large crowd participated and showed overwhelming support for the organization which assists many in the Lakewood community seeking mental health care. Since its inception, Relief Resources has helped over 35,000 individuals in communities worldwide and in Lakewood alone has been there for close to 4,200 individuals who have reached out for help.

The organization has the staunch support of many of Lakewood’s Rabbonim, including that of the Mashgiach, Rav Mattisyahu Salamon Shlita.

The event was graced with the presence of many neighborhood Rabbonim and most notably that of Reb Avrohom Kammer Shlita, who was largely instrumental in the overall success of the event.

The crowd was addressed briefly by Rabbi Binyomin Babad, the Director of Relief and then the organization’s President and founder Rabbi Sendy Ornstien, presented the host with a rare letter from Hagoan Rav Elyashiv Shlita, thanking him for his noble work.

Rav Yitzchok Oelbaum Shlita, R”m in Yeshivas Birchas Chaim, was the guest speaker who enthralled the audience with his brilliant delivery and in depth understanding of the work of Relief.

On a side note, Relief Resources wishes to express a hearty Mazel Tov to the host of the Parlor meeting, Avi Feigenbaum on the birth of his daughter, born late last night.

  1. relief and R Babad have a reserved place in Olam Haba for the yeshuos they have given to people in need. There knowledge and networking in the phsycological medical field is vast and respected.

Wether its a medical dilema or post partum depression, ocd or other phsycological issues, R’ Babads knowledge, care and concern helps the patient and families find a path for their yeshua.

  2. I don’t think my comment will be posted because of how politically incorrect it is to say these days but… I am not doughting the good work and sincere intentions of Relief nor am I implying anything against them. However let me share my experience .A few years ago I was a naive Yungerman who believed all the hype about “well mean – well trained- professional therapists” that was/is so in vogue in most frum publications. Then my wife was afflicted with severe postpartum depression. That experience opened my eyes not to be so trusting or respectful and reverent towards therapists and mental help professionals. And through the grape vine I found out my experience is far from unique. It will help relief do it’s purpose if more “awareness” about the lack of competence and good intentions of many mental health professionals is spread.
