N.J. Offers Home Appliance Rebate

appliance rebateNew Jerseyans may not have much time to get rebates when they trade their old appliances for energy efficient ones. The state’s participation in the program funded by the federal stimulus package will last through April or until the $2.4 million runs out. In other states, the money was nearly gone by the first day. The Garden State will offer $25 rebates for Energy Star clothes washers, $25 or $50 for dishwashers, and $5 or $100 for refrigerators. Rebates are available from either the appliance store or can be redeemed by mail.

A list or retailers who offer the instant rebate is available at www.NJCleanEnergy.com or by calling 866-NJ-SMART. AP/APP
