UPDATE: As of 4:20 PM, the parkway is still shut in the area of 135 northbound for the investigation.

CPR was performed on at least one patient. The car was split in half.

There are also southbound rubbernecking delays – with multiple fender bender accidents.

Avoid the Parkway if possible.

Serious injuries are being reported in a multi-vehicle accident this afternoon on the Garden State Parkway.

The accident occurred around 1:00 PM on the GSP northbound at approximately mile marker 135.

Initial reports indicate approximately five vehicles were involved.

Expect delays for the investigation and cleanup.
