Medicare’s annual Open Enrollment period is underway and runs through December 7, giving beneficiaries their once-a-year opportunity to review and change their coverage for 2027.

During this period, enrollees can switch, join or drop a Medicare Advantage plan, change Part D prescription drug plans, or move between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage. Any changes made take effect January 1, and the plan must receive the enrollment request by December 7.

Even those satisfied with their current plan are encouraged to review it, as premiums, deductibles, drug formularies and provider networks can change from year to year.
