PHOTOS & VIDEO: In honor of the official day of National Hunger Action Month, Mayor Menashe Miller this afternoon joined ShopRite in honoring the cause. Governors across six States – including New Jersey – declared September 21st as the ShopRite Partners In Caring Day, in which dinitaries across the States ‘help bag hunger’ at their local ShopRite store to raise awareness and funds for food banks in their community.
Mayor Miller presented a plaque to ShopRite recognizing their efforts in the program, and also bagged groceries for customers, in a way of showing support for the multi-State program.
Since its inception in 1999, ShopRite Partners In Caring has donated more than $27,000,000 to local food banks that support 1,700 charities in providing food assistance throughout the Northeast.
Welcoming the Mayor, was ShopRite’s Kosher Experience manager Ephraim (Freddy) Chase and other store managers.
In these fiscal challaging times it takes a lot of money to be a poor man! I’m sure there are many residents who could avail themselves of food pantrys and these type projects.
Keep up the great work!
They make millions of $$$ in Lakewood off the frum community and give $00 to the Lakewood jewish food organizations.
What a nice recognition for the charity that Shoprite gives back to the community.
Shoprite has always been sensitive to the needs of the community and employs many from the kehilla.
I think everybody who shops in Shoprite should approach management to point out its high time they start including Lakewood in their charitable endeavors.
Shoprite is the only mega store around willing to do something for the shmiras einayim when checking out….. Give ’em credit where credit is do!
Please don’t ask ShopRite for anything unless you personally are very makpid on Mefarnisim Anyiy Akum i\Im Yisroel .And even then …
They give you charity every day by giving rock bottom prices on groceries!
Do you realize how many Yidden are employed by Shoprite?
Supporting that store provides parnassah for a few dozen Acheinu Bnei Yisroel.
why do they not give back to our community as for example Investors Bank does ,, when you make so much off a community you should be giving back them
