EXCLUSIVE: Mayor Menashe Miller has decided to accept the honor and to continue serving as Lakwewood’s Mayor for 2012, TLS has confirmed. “I am humbled by the confidence my colleagues and public have expressed in me, but it merely mirrors my assurance in them”, Mayor Menashe Miller tells TLS from Qatar, where he’s currently on Military duty.
The Mayor added, “Governing the town is a collective and cooperative effort of ideas and solutions provided by the public”. “Those ideas are conveyed to the committee to implement”.
(See video of the Mayor’s reaction when Deputy Mayor Langert asked Miller to continue as Mayor).
As earlier reported, Committeeman Albert Akerman is expected to serve as his Deputy Mayor.
The Mayor, expected to return in time for the Reorganization meeting, says he’s looking forward to the opportunity and hopes to set new goals.
“I am looking forward to coming home from this deployment and hit the ground running with fresh ideas and realistic goals for this upcoming year.” TLS.

This man is a true credit to his people and his religion.
Mayor Miller does a great job listening to the real people who run Lakewood. I do agree 2011 was a good year for some and not for others.
This is good news. Welcome back Mayor Miller. Stay safe and get back home soon.
Why isn’t my friend Steve going to be mayor again? He really helped me out when he was mayor. And we have fun times together.
why Ackerman for deputy? why not Coles, Langert or Lichtenstein?
His military experience is a major plus with regard to his ability to run the town as Mayor. It taught him how to perform well under pressure and how to be a good team player.
Bec 1 they will be a great team
2 if they pick any of the other YOU’LL ASK THE SAME QUESTION
