Manchester Man Charged After Dog Dies in Hot Car

A 67-year-old Manchester man was charged with animal cruelty after he left a dog unattended inside a car for an extended period of time, resulting in the dog’s death.

On September 3rd, Manchester Police officers responded to a residence on Norwalk Avenue for a report of a deceased dog in the driveway.

Officers located the dog and began investigating the circumstances surrounding its death.

The investigation determined that the dog had been left unattended inside a vehicle for an extended period of time under warm weather conditions.

On October 1, Detective Adam Guker charged William Bevan Jr., 67, of Whiting, with Third-Degree Animal Cruelty.

Bevan was issued a complaint summons and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
