A 23-year-old Manasquan woman has been charged in connection with a three-vehicle crash in Wall Township back in March that killed a Brick woman and injured another person.

Tamra G. Lawlor was charged with second-degree Vehicular Homicide and fourth-degree Assault by Auto. She had previously been charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, Failure to Observe Traffic Control Devices, and Possession of Open Unsealed Marijuana in a Motor Vehicle.

The crash occurred shortly after 5:20 p.m. on March 5 at the intersection of Route 70 and Morningstar Road. Lawlor was driving a Subaru Crosstrek when she allegedly ran a red light and struck a Toyota Camry operated by 58-year-old Eileen Ziesmer of Brick. A Nissan Armada operated by another 51-year-old Brick woman was also involved in the crash.

Ziesmer was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased. Lawlor and the third driver were also transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation by Wall Township Police, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Unit and the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team determined that Lawlor was operating her vehicle under the influence of intoxicating substances when she ran the red light and caused the crash, officials said.

Lawlor was charged earlier this week and surrendered to authorities Tuesday. She was subsequently transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending an upcoming appearance in Monmouth County Superior Court.
