Man Turns Himself In After Vehicle Burglaries And Stolen Credit Card Use In Lakewood And Brick

Police say a Seaside Heights man used credit cards taken from cars at locations across Lakewood and Brick

The Lakewood Police Department announced the arrest of Eric S. Oliver, 33, of Seaside Heights, following a several-week investigation into a series of reported vehicle burglaries.

During the investigation, detectives gathered evidence indicating that Oliver allegedly entered multiple vehicles and used credit cards obtained during the burglaries at various locations throughout Lakewood and Brick Township.

As a result of the investigation, charges were filed against Oliver, who subsequently turned himself in to the Lakewood Police Department. He is currently being held at the Ocean County Jail pending further proceedings.

Chief Gregory Meyer stated: “I commend our investigators for their thorough work in investigating these incidents and holding those responsible accountable. These cases also serve as an important reminder that simple precautions can help prevent vehicle burglaries. Always lock your vehicle, remove cash and valuables, and never leave wallets, identification, credit cards, or other personal belongings inside your car. Don’t make your vehicle an easy target.”
