A man standing near the Capitol Hotel was egged and stoned moments ago. The man was waiting for a ride near the 7th and Madison Avenue hotel when he got hit by eggs and stones from a passing motorist, but by the time he looked up, the vehicle was gone. LCSW was called and responded to the hotel to try and locate the suspect’s vehicle, but were unsuccessful.
LCSW recommended filing a police report.

LCSW was called??? LPD should have been called! A crime was committed and the police should be called right away- not a neighborhood watch group!
LCSW has more (aggressive/willing) manpower available to actually search for such a culprit.

call the POLICE! Yes LCSW consists of members of the community but they shouldn’t serve as a middle man between civilians and the police. If you want to call them after contacting 911 thats fine but CALL THE POLICE! The quicker police are contacted, the quicker they respond the more of a chance there is that they can catch the perpetrators. If you waste time first calling LCSW then telling them the story then they contact the police then police arrive…..wow thats a lot of time for the bad guy to get away don’t you think. LCSW is just that, a CIVILIAN WATCH….they ARE NOT the POLICE. Yes, they are a great asset to Lakewood as a whole but again are NOT and should NOT be confused in anyway with Police Personnel.

doesnt change the fact that they should be contacted AFTER the police. They can look as aggressively as they want….AFTER the police are called. Guess what, if they find the people responsible, they still have to contact the Police….

guess what i even called chaverim before and asked them what to do the police hv better things to do and would not have taken this seriously except to make a police report so thats the whole story

It is the job of the police, plain and simple, not volunteers….many in the township complain that too much is spent on the police force and yet, when circumstances arise in which the police are needed, you hesitate to call. A police report is a powerful thing. It documents specifics about certain incidents that, in many cases, leads to the solving of crimes….I know thats a new and sometimes scary thing, buts its worked for hundreds of years. LCSW and Chaverim are absolutely wonderful at doing what they are good at, unfortunately that doesnt include police work, so keep it to the professionals
Btw lcsw is not just a watch they do a lot more then that just bc u guys can’t get on or can’t face the fact that lcsw can do something but theyv made 8 aresr and on verry good terms with the pd so every1 stoip hocking and use ur brain these members r take time out of their life and helping save u
