A woman is under arrest and a man was hospitalized in critical condition after being found unconscious in a vehicle from an apparent drug overdose, Detective Sergeant Greg Staffordsmith confirms to TLS.
At about 3:30 p.m. on Monday, police responded to the area of West County Line Road and Route 9 after receiving the report of an unconscious male in a vehicle.
“Upon arrival, Officers found a 36 year Brick man, unconscious and gasping for air in a 2004 Saturn,” said Staffordsmith. “At the time, it was not clear what may have caused his condition, but he was suspected of ingesting some kind of Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS).”
The man was transported by Lakewood EMS to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus where he was listed in critical condition, Staffordsmith says.
Further investigation resulted in the arrest of the female occupant, 21 year old Lee Weiss, of Jackson, NJ, for the possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. She was transported to headquarters for processing and later released.
