Man Admits To Creating False U.S. Passports And Mailing Them To New Jersey

A man formerly of Gwinnett County, Georgia, and currently residing in Chicago, Illinois, admitted to furnishing false U.S. passport cards through the mail, U.S. Attorney Robert Frazer announced.

Juma Wajid, also known as “Jay Khan” and “Jamal Anthony,” 38, of Chicago, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Susan D. Wigenton in Newark federal court to an Information charging him with furnishing a false, forged and counterfeit passport.

According to documents filed in the case and statements made in court, Wajid used an online account to send mailings that contained six or more fake U.S. passport cards and other identification documents that he created.

In August 2024, law enforcement purchased five false U.S. passport cards, as well as additional documents, from Wajid, who believed the documents would be used to commit bank fraud. Wajid created the documents and mailed them to an address in New Jersey in exchange for payment in cryptocurrency.

The charge of furnishing a false passport to another person carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000, or twice the amount of money involved in the offense, whichever is greater.

He was really able to – with hologram and all? Or just made a color copies?
I once read that Nazis worked hard to counterfeit British money – had plan to dump much of it there to topple the economy with inflation. They had Jews in concentration camps forced to do it for them, and at one point, a German officer came back and waved the highest a British bill in the air and said it had been accepted to a bank there (passed counterfeit security checks). They did make an amount of the cash, but never got to dump it over England. Instead, as the allies advanced, they dumped it in a river. I think I saw that it was dredged out years later.

Man Who Was Arrested For Creating Counterfeit Passports, Later Released on $50,000 Counterfeit Bail
A man who was charged today with creating and selling counterfeit passports was released from custody later in the day on $50,000 counterfeit cash bail.
“We didn’t realize that the bail-money he gave us was counterfeit until he had already left the court building,” court clerk, Susan Farsighted, told reporters today. “It was only after he had already left the building that we realized that the bills he had given us had the word ‘Monopoly’ printed on them.”
Police Officer, Rick Cuffsburg, told reporters today that, “Law enforcement went to the man’s home to rearrest him, but he already fled to the airport carrying one of his counterfeit passports and his huge stash of counterfeit (Monopoly) money.”
“The airline ticket that he was carrying today at the airport terminal said ‘Mexico’ on it,” Officer Cuffsburg said, “but all indications are that the ticket he was carrying was actually counterfeit, and a decoy, and that forger is planning on staying in the US, creating a brand new fake identity for himself, moving to Washington DC, and getting a job printing US currrency at the US Treasury’s Bureau of Engraving and Printing.”
