RAW VIDEO OF BLAZE: [UPDATED] (Follow @lakewoodscoop for updates) The Lakewood Fire Department is on scene of a fully engulfed structure fire on Pine Street.
Dozens of emergency personnel are on scene battling the fire, which also set fire to nearby wires.
Mutual aid was called in to help battle the fire.
One person was reportedly severely burned from the fire, and is being hospitalized. A Medevac initially called – and which landed in Lakewood – was cancelled, apparently due to miscommunication.
Sefer Torahs from a nearby Shul were evacuated safely.
Mayor Miller and Emergency Liaison Committeeman Meir Lichtenstien have ensured that power will not be shut to the area on this cold night.
The Fire Marshal’s Office and Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the fire, which reportedly started from a space heater. [TLS-28]

The water is brown because they used the hydrants the pressure causes it it will take a few hours to settle
I live right there and have brown water as well… if you figure out how to take care of it please post your findings.

Thank you to comment #1 thank you for wishing the safety of the rest of the dept.
Gotta give a shout out to the LFD vols. they work like a well-oiled machine. The fire is very sad, sure, Im not minimizing that. Just saying the FD is, like, the perfect combination of power & grace. Thanx, guys.
The house is near the Bais Horaah Shul. That shul is a little wooden hut that can easily have burned. Thank you fled for putting it out so quickly.
Where would this town be if not for our dedicated FD and PD! Thx!!
Did they get the dog out??
both dogs were safe…. ty lws for not posting my question about why the power would be cut !!!!
As a member of the FD I would like to say you’re welcome to all those who have expressed thanks to the department and thank you for your support and recognition.
and remember, this fire was fought in single digit temperatures, not simple.
I watched the whole thing.. wanna say it was a Kiddush hashem that neigbors brought out hot drinks for fd and pd on this cold night!!
yes , that’s right … thank you sooo much to the wonderful people that’s brought us hot drinks ! that’s was great and we really want to thank you all….
in the know- thank you very much for the update about the dogs. Its horrible enough someone was badly burned and lost everything- to add a loss of a pet to it would have made it even more heartbreaking.
