LCSW Seeking More Assistance For Patrols – Applications To Open In Weeks To Come

lcsw car logo tlsLCSW has notified TLS that multiple residents have show interest in patrolling, and are still looking for additional assistance for patrolling. With the recent significant increase in crime in Lakewood over the past couple of months – and the decrease in police resources – LCSW is asking for residents to assist with patrolling during all hours of the day and night.

If you or someone you know are available to offer a couple of hours a week or month to help patrol, please call: 908-596-0529 or email [email protected].

Another way to assist, is by calling LCSW and/or police should you witness any suspicious activity.

LCSW has also said, that they plan on accepting more applications in the weeks to come, which will be posted on TLS.

The number to the LPD is 732-363-0200.

The number to report suspicious activity to LCSW, is 732-367 1212.

  1. it shouldnt be “and/or police” it should be “Call the Police”…..if you see something suspicious, all LCSW is going to do is call the cops anyways, cut out the middle man……

  2. most ppl in this town call police on every person walking down their street that they dont recognize. so lcsw relieves the police of responding to “suspicious” ppl.

LCSW can sit around and watch a suspicious individual or suspicious behavior from a distance some times for 20 min or more till the individual actually commits a crime. when calling the police on a “suspicious” person, the police can not do a thing! thats the LAW! and the police dont have the time or man power to sit around and wait till a crime is committed, hence LCSW!

  3. Disband them and hire more cops…..15 years ago Lkwd had a axillary Police-they were volunteers and that became a liability. How does the state police allow these antics to go on in Lakewood. I think this is a back door deal to replace free labor with paid Police…. If all these LCSW members want to help, take the civil service test and become cops.

  4. to #4

LCSW is a registered Neighborhood Watch! you can read up on it at the website of USAonWatch. There are many such Neighborhood Watches throughout the USA. its not some political scam to get rid of police. Grow up!

  5. According to the state police there are approx 16k memebers on civilian watch groups across the state if its such a issue as u people think how can that be?

  6. I sent an application in, the I spoke to a co-ordinator, no one ever got back to me. I’m gonna try again, but I bet no one follows up.

  7. LCSW should enlist the aid of retired police officers(more accurately, captains, lieutenants, sergeants…..). Unfortunately, there are too many of them. I think they’d welcome the opportunity to help protect Lakewood once again.

  8. I wish I could help but right now I have 2 very young children and we both work all day… I would love to patrol through out the town…

  9. “…LCSW should enlist the aid of retired police officers(more accurately, captains, lieutenants, sergeants…..).”

Can’t enlist the retired cops. Most of them have moved out of state by now.

  10. LCSW is a great asset to this community, & all you haters, who do nothing for society, who don’t lift a finger for another person, can go crawl back into whatever hole you slipped out of.
