“If we noticed it, so could they.” That’s what a new notice being laced on vehicles and bicycles around town by LCSW reads.
The notice was placed by LCSW’s Shabbos volunteers on many vehicles this past weekend, and they will continue to do so as they patrol in an effort to bring down the burglary rate – which has recently spiked.

good job of course. but what’s the stop the ganifs from seeing the notices?
Its very good that they give notices but what right do the have to open doors and go thru the cars !!!
to all the commentators
NO they don’t open doors
NO they don’t go thru cars
they put notices on cars that valuables are noticeble without opening the doors
they put notices on cars that the doors are clearly unlocked from seeing thru the door or even windows open
THANK YOU LCSW!
Great job! Great Idea!
Grand idea! Maybe people will begin to be a bit more cautious about locking their doors and hide their valuables. #stopcrimeinlakewood
I am afraid the warnings may be putting the perps on notice which cars to hit!
why are people leaving cars and homes open
there are too many burgs that are not forced entry – yes the big ones are forced entry but the small ones are unlocked doors
You better put signs like
“You park on a corner and put people in danger”
Or “you didn’t put a turning blinker on and almost caused an accident ”
Or “you parked in a wrong place and cause a school bus bring 40 children to school 30 minutes late”!
This is much more serious problem that somebody’s GPS being stolen!
Thank you VOLUNTEERS! Thank you for caring so much about the community that you VOLUNTEER to perform this important service. So many of us simply do not think that an empty bank envelope or expensive sunglasses left on the seat may cause our car windows to be broken and our cars rummaged through. Thank you friends for making me a little more mindful with the gentle reminders!
