Township police arrested a woman from Woodlake Manor Drive in Lakewood, which is near the White Oaks and Red Oaks developments, charging her with aggravated assault with a weapon, unlawfully possessing a weapon and burglary, said Capt. David Newman. Officer William Simon responded to Azalea Circle at 60 Acres Reserve about 10:30 p.m. Monday to find Damaris Pierce, 27, bleeding from stab wounds to her head, upper torso and arms, Newman said. Pierce identified her attacker as Renetta Hart, 28, of Lakewood, Newman said. The victim said that Hart broke into her home and stabbed her before leaving in a silver Hyundai Elantra. Pierce was at her home where police recovered the knife used in the attack, police said. Officers James Reynolds and Gregory Schmidt rendered first aid to Pierce and the Jackson First Aid Squad took her to Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood. About 12:30 a.m. Lakewood Patrolman William Allen saw Hart’s vehicle pull into a business on Route 88 and New Hampshire Avenue. Hart was taken into custody without incident and turned over to Jackson Police and charged. She was placed in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $100,000. Detective Mitchell Cowit signed the complaint against Hart. Jackson Sgt. James Pissott and Detectives Scott Frey and Robert Hart of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the investigation. App.
