Election Day is less one week away, and Lakewood voters heading to the polls on Tuesday, November 3 will decide contests ranging from the United States Senate down to the township’s Board of Education, along with two public questions.
Polls will be open on Election Day from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. In-person early voting runs through this Sunday, November 1 – Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 8 PM, and Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM – at any of Ocean County’s ten early voting sites, including the Lakewood Municipal Building courtroom at 231 Third Street. Voters can look up their polling place and registration status at elections.nj.gov.
Here is everything on Lakewood’s ballot, per the official Ocean County sample ballot:
United States Senate (six-year term, vote for one): Republican Justin Murphy, Democrat Cory Booker, Veronica Fernandez of the End The Corruption! party, and Joanne Kuniansky of the Socialist Workers Party.
House of Representatives, 4th Congressional District (two-year term, vote for one): Republican Christopher H. Smith and Democrat Rachel Peace.
Ocean County Board of Commissioners (three-year term, vote for one): Republican Frank Sadeghi and Democrat Kia C. Phua.
Lakewood Township Committee (three-year term, vote for two): Republicans Deborah Fuentes and Moshe B. Raitzik, and Democrats Raymond Coles and Samantha L. Stokes.
Lakewood Board of Fire Commissioners (three-year term, vote for two): Dovid Bender, Larry S. “Levi” Loigman, and Harrison Pfeffer.
Lakewood Board of Education (three-year term, vote for three): Samuel Melnik and Harriet Goldberg, running under the “Common Sense Leadership” slogan. No petition was filed for the third seat, leaving it to write-in candidates.
Every race also includes a write-in option.
Two public questions appear on the ballot as well. The first asks voters whether to increase the Ocean County Natural Lands Trust Fund tax rate – read TLS’s full breakdown here. The second asks whether to shrink the Lakewood Board of Education from nine members to seven – read TLS’s full explainer here.

For Township committee everybody should vote for Moshe rate sick. If you wanna see change lower property taxes, less traffic, more sidewalks and a better Lakewood overall.
Don’t you folks get voters pamphlets from your registrar? I thoroughly enjoy reading mine and seeing who endorses what candidates and their statements.
