In response to numerous complaints about traffic backups, the Lakewood Township has changed a permanent traffic light on Clifton Avenue into a flashing light.
The light at First Street was changed after motorists complained about the traffic being backed up along Clifton Avenue due to the First Street light and Rt. 88 light not being properly synced.
The Mayor says the Township will keep the traffic lights as flashing red and yellow lights – which will act similar to stop signs – until the State allows for proper syncing of the lights. Coles also said he has asked the engineer to redouble their efforts to expedite the process.
YOU GOT TO LOVE LKWD!!! ONLY IN LKWD

for one day?
Please correct it is Mayor Coles and not Coles.
I know tls likes to be mysterious about the location of their stories, but could you pretty please tell me where the flashing light is & which lights are not in sync? I.e. which streets on Clifton ave. Are you referring to?
I drive through this intersection everyday and it is backup from all directions. But since it has become a flashing light it is dangerous! Cars are going through without stopping, people are scared to cross.
PLEASE FIX ASAP
