very smart Idea, everyone keep safe.
Trying to save money on the busses?
I don’t get it. Lakewood is not a “coastal area”. We have winds of 60 mph several times a year when we have those big thunderstorms and school isn’t canceled.
No, they’re trying to save you money on your kids hospital bills if they would go on buses Monday and tuesday
I hope the Yeshivos and Bais Yaakovs do the right thing!
Is this the Public School only or our schools as well?
if there are no buses, yeshivas should cancel. There is no reason to put ourselves in danger and go out and drive.
If the Board calls no transportation then why do the private schools stay open? Its foolish
any parent who feels school’s should not be closed is self centered and not looking at the big picture. What shame
why can’t we wait till when it comes to make decision?
Keep the private schools open to see how long it takes you to drive your child/ children to get to and from school.
What a great idea, thanks # 3
I dont understand this rush to close schools especially 2 days in advance! one day ahead is more than enough!!
why would anyone want to put children’s lives in danger?70-80 mph winds are not to be played with, lines will come down and trees and limbs will fall. Enjoy the time with family and stay safe
the sky is falling, the sky is falling. I still drive an hour into work tomorrow. If it is soo dangerous why don’t the police close the roads already???
To yikes… They will be closed-it’s called a “state of emergency”!
this is not-stam a ge4shmak idea every one should wear lifejackets
The gov declared this a state of emergency, the police figure you have the good sense to stay off the roads if they are dangerous. You are like a child that needs to be led by the hand because you don’t have the sense to stay out of the street.
i hpoe everyone enjoys thier vacation and al,l the bais yankevs are doing a great job by not having school this is mirodic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. STOCK UP on bathing caps
To those of you saying why so early… Freehold was notified Friday night. Brick and TR Saturday.
Should we wait to evacuate lie lining areas until the flood water is seeping in the house. Wait to buy supplies until the roads are flooded. Wait to clean up the debris in the yard after a garbage blows through a window??
. Better safe than sorry!!!
Generally the ones complaining about these things will be the first to complain when they are in a bad situation and they can not be reacued of helped – THINK, Use some common sense!!
May I ask why my comments posted at approximately 11:58 to 12:22 are not moderated yet? There is nothin offense, inappropriate or rude!
this is mamosh pikuach nefesh all the schools are doing a great job by caceling school if the buses cant drive them to school then how do they expec us the teachers to drive in our shmattadika car?!
If you don’t care about the safety of your children, in what could be the storm of the century, give a thought to the bus drivers. They
have families depending on them. Better to be safe than sorry!
what doesn’t everyone get,the govenor called for a state of emergency does anyone know what that means,,it means stay off the streets,no driving only emergency personel and medical staff for hospitals,, so to close school is to follow direction, and number #3 we don;’t have to be in a flood zone for things to happen like tree’s down, live electric lines down etc,
when are they gona tell us already if school is cancelled??
If the sending district is closed, then there is no transportation. It’s only logical.
If you are driving when the governor declares a State of Emergency, it’s a $800 fine! I guess some of you just don’t get it, we are getting hit head on!!!!!!!!!! Start thinking about your families instead of complaining there no school. Safety first and foremost!!!!!
bais faiga is cancelled!!
most schools canceled already……..
