The Lakewood Police Department today held a pre-Pesach meeting with community activists and various volunteer organizations, which doubled as a welcoming event for the newest police officers.

The luncheon gave all involved a chance to meet and get an understanding of the diverse Lakewood community, as well as discuss the upcoming Pesach holiday schedule and needs.

“The Lakewood Police Department is proud to have an amazing working relationship with the hundreds upon hundreds of volunteers in this town,” says Police Chief Greg Meyer says. “Meetings like these are great for the new officers to get to know the faces behind these amazing organizations. When dealing with such a diverse community, it’s imperative that we have that awareness and understanding.”

Attending the meeting emceed by Emergency Services Liaison Meir Lichtenstein, were LPD administration officials, chaplains, liaisons, representatives from Hatzolah, Chaveirim, LCSW, Bikur Cholim and others who interact daily with the police department.

“Inter-agency events like these are important and help form a strong bond for a stronger community,” said Community Affairs Liaison Ben Inzelbuch, who coordinated the event.
