Question:
Good afternoon I go to work each night. On the corner or Rt 9 and Cross St driver’s get in the right turn lane and go straight I’ve seen this in many locations twice I’ve been almost in accident.I work the overnights shift I leave home early because this section is dangerous. Could your officer look out for people who does this.
The Chief’s response:
Hi and thanks for your question. I passed through there last Saturday and noticed the intersection was under State DOT construction and will inquire about the straight and turning arrows, markings and signs. And yes we be doing enforcement for violators at that location.
Feel free to download our APP and report license plate numbers to us for enforcement. Of course not while you are driving.

What app?
Instead of trying to fix it a bit let’s give tickets right?
How about changing the left lane to turn only and the right to straight and right?
It can take a few long lights to get thru going straight because of the left turning cars and many cars making a right cant even get to the corner to do it due to the backed up traffic so maybe do this and ease up the traffic a bit .
And yes some right turning cars will need to wait a bit longer at times but it will help many more and clear it up a bit
the road planners are clueless!!!
SNITCH
What needs to be changed is the length of the light. maybe 4 cars could go through that light. it’s not enough for the amount of backed up traffic there is by that intersection!
