Lakewood Police Chief Greg Meyer Answers Your ‘Ask The Chief’ Questions: No Parking Signs

The following is an ‘Ask The Chief’ question submitted to TLS, and the Chief’s response. Email your questions for the Chief to [email protected].

Question: I’ve noticed recently that on 7th Street from Lexington to Princeton has no parking signs on the south side of the street. However, there are cars lined fully along both blocks, this is in addition to cars being parked on corners across the heart of town where you literally can’t see anything when you’re trying to cross the street. Thanks for this platform!

The Chief’s response: I will have our traffic and safety specialists look into this as soon as possible.

Thank you for your email.

Chief

Oy terrible, so ‘illegal’. Also, let’s start enforcement to end jaywalking, the situation is so ‘illegal’. Enough is enough we need the Justice dep. to step in and end all this terribly illegal activity

on 7th street near bmg, instead of putting out 300 cones, why don’t they paint the curb yellow and put up no parking signs, and enforce it for a few weeks, and they wont have to line the street with cones

While there are many place where this is a legit a hazard. There are also many unneccesary no parkong signs.

You have an issue with one corner no problem. That doesn’t mean we need to become NYC where you almost cannot drive or park normally anywhere because it’s ‘illegal’.
