In keeping with the Police Week Theme, next Friday at the Ocean County Police Academy, the annual fallen officer memorial service will be held with the families of the fallen officers present.
Lakewood Police Captain Joseph Goertz will have his name placed on the memorial wall during that ceremony.
A bronze plaque will also be hung for the Captain on the Fallen Heroes wall at police headquarters.
