  1. We want the cops to be everywhere, but we don’t want to pay for them. Can’t have police everywhere in such a town as this, ever growing, and not increase the manpower! Why are there no frum men on the police force? Everyone screams that they want protection, but they don’t want to do the work, just be watchdogs and complain, gipe and accuse.

  2. the job of the police is not to protect its to apprehend and investigate criminals and criminal activity and bring them to justice. stop looking and blaming the police for not doing a job which is not theirs. the safety of Yourself and your family lies with just that yourself and your family,

  3. Hey Abe:
As much as I respect our PD and realize that their job is very difficult and unfortunately not appreciated enough I couldn’t disagree with you more. If you were right then officers would just sit around a table in the station and wait for a call to come in. After all they don’t have to deter the stabbing….only catch the perp after it happened; correct?? Maybe in a third-world country, not in the USA. As the last comment said,”To serve and PROTECT” is synonymous with and police force. I sure hope you don’t ever run for any township position other than public works. Their job is to clean up the mess, not prevent it! Go for it!

  4. It always pays to call lcsw at 732-367-1212 true they can’t make an arrest but the could send 20 guys to a area to help pd find the suspect and then pd will make the arrest

  5. If I was the Mayor I would put more unmarked Police cars in the area and catch many suspects and also make more police dept grow out more to prevent crimes in the areas

  6. #8 & #9 i’m not just making things up. it is wishful thinking that police can protect you from a crime before it happens its nearly impossible to serve and protect is not a law its what they would like to do but impossible 2) the courts have already ruled that police do not have a legal obligation to protect you, yes if you call the police because you are in danger and they decide to finish their coffee brake before responding to you or choose to totally ignore your call for help they cannot be held responsible ask the police they will tell you the same thing i challenge anyone to give me a case were police prevented a crime before it happened, it has happened but its extremely rare

  7. It will take you literally 50-60% shorter if you call 363-0200 EXT 0

You get the Lakewood Police DIRECTLY instead of the county. They first hear your story and only then do they transfer to LPD and you will usually have to repeat it! I’ve had experiences both ways and I have the LPD direct # on speed dial.

  8. I want to clarify my last comment. 911 is very important but when you are just trying to reach the LPD, you’re much better off skipping the middleman and dialing them direct.

    732-363-0200 Ext 0

  9. pd according to the law is on duty 24/7 that inc shabbos thats why their are no yiden on the police force
if that changes i would and many that I know would join

  10. Do you want cameras on every block? Do you want to pay for them? Policemen are not clairvoyant. They’ll run the plate and VIN. They’ll dust the car for prints, they’ll check for some identifying items, they’ll get dirty and might even catch some bacterial or virus thing or G-d knows what in the process. How about praying for them so that they “get lucky” or “have a hunch” and don’t get hurt or killed? BTW I am Shomer Shabbos and I was never made to work on Shabbos or Chagim. It’s a Federal Law…..
