It’s been a historic couple of weeks for the Lakewood High School as the Lakewood Varsity Basketball Team continues to make waves in the High School Basketball scene.
The team will be making its way on to the State Championship this week after defeating the Spotswood team 53-36 last night in the State Tournament semifinals.
On Wednesday, the Team beat Point Pleasant Boro High School in the State Tournament Quarterfinals with a score of 69-36.
The State Tournament wins come after the Piners took the Shore Conference Tournament (SCT) – for the first time in 22 years. The last time Lakewood won the SCT was in 1991 vs. Lacey, when now Head Coach Randy Holmes played under the direction of former Head Coach John “Pott” Richardson.
The Championship game will be taking place Monday. TLS.
I hope to see our Mayor and BOE representation there again. It is a huge Kiddush Hashem

Where can we get T-Shirts & Caps?
This is truly due to the inspiration of our mayor who is a basketball aficionado .
Thank you Mayor Ackerman for all of your encouragement!
Good luck tonight guys!! The entire town is rooting for you!!!
to #15, this is truly due to the hard work of the team and coaches!
having a mayor who likes b-ball is great but the team works hard.
Go Piners-bring back the long waited title!
This success belongs solely to the dedication and hard work of the team and the coaches. They have worked as a team toward this achievement! All the others are there for encouragement. As for the t-shirts and hats? The coaches would have to arrange for that and need to spend that energy on going to states.
