Hi Mayor!
What a privilege we can email you our questions and get responses.
Why do the police allow in almost every office building in town regular cars to park in handicapped spaces? In practically every office building around town, half or more spaces are occupied by vehicles with no handicap allowance.
Please stop this trend and clear out these spaces for the real disabled people of our beautiful town.
In my opinion, this would take the police to come down daily for a week or two and give tickets not warnings and afterwards, often enough so this “habit” doesn’t start up again.

I don’t get this.
While I agree in principle… one fellow says something so now we crack down on the whole town??
Are you seriously upset about the police cracking down on people parking in spaces designated for people w/disabilities? It should be cracked down on all around town. It’s wildly selfish to have a problem with that.

I call LPD. They never come or its too late. Most places don’t even have the mandated number of H spots. There is no repentance for this, so thanks for your merits into my account at least. Nuff’ said.
The parking situation is out of control thru out Lakewood. Drive up & down Forest Avenue in the morning or late afternoon before dark & at night. Crosswalk blockers, corner huggers & blocked fire hydrants. I have pictures of just last night.
Ran into this very same situation at a CVS pharmacy and you would not believe what the drivers response was “Oh Im not parked here I am just waiting for my friend to come out of the store ” REALLY !!!!
this happens way to often ,had had a situation at a pharmacy in lakewood where a driver was blocking a handicap spot at the excuse was they were waiting for someone , I said you are in a handicap spot !!
