Question:
Dear Mr. Mayor:
I haven’t seen this question posted, but it’s really like an emergency.
I’d like you to take a look at Prospect street and Cross and White St and Cross.
Both those intersections desperately need a traffic light. I believe there is an accident there almost every single day!
And concerning White St and Cross it’s like Russian Roulette. They should rename it Cross and Pray, because you have to pray to get across safely. Try it on a regular weekday and you’ll understand what I mean.
I understand that traffic lights are a state thing, but this is an EMERGENCY! We really can’t wait for red tape and a few years traffic study.
Can anything be done now?
Thanks for doing a great job! We love Lakewood!
Sincerely,
A Constituent
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good afternoon,
Both of the intersections are currently being reviewed for upgrades by the county as part of their widening project. I have asked our engineers and traffic and safety to investigate both areas and see if they can come up with some ideas to make both intersections safer until the county completes its work.
Thanks
Ray

Do you really believe the Mayor can just put up new traffic lights on his own because you (or anyone else) deemed it an “Emergency”?
Ofcourse not! but at least I could try to get the message out
Suggestion: change the title “Cross and Pray” sounds like a reference to Christian worship.
