Question:
Hi Mr Mayor. Thank you for all you do for our town! A special thank you for all you do to keep the traffic moving. I have seen that the township recently is putting up 4 way stop signs and I’m wondering if we can get one by the intersection of 4th St and Forest Ave. It can get crazy in the morning and at night. People are coming to pray in the Satmar Shul and you have people needing to inch all the way out to see if they can turn – risking an accident. Especially that there isn’t much parking in the area so people park all the way till the corner and there’s no visibility.
Is this something that can be done?
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good morning,
I have sent your recommendation to our traffic and safety division for review.
Ray

It can be corrected imediatley if vehicles were not parked all the way to the corner ( as the writer states ) on the yellow curb.
I agree with David. Also would help if people would only cross in the crosswalk.
lost cause, unfortunately lakewood pd doesnt ticket people parking in yellow too close to corner, real shame.
Can a cop please sit in the morning s at James and Railrod ct cars make left turns when on right turn are supposed only some one is going to get killed there please do something about this thank you
i don’t think it’s a good idea. If u want to avoid this, u enter can forest from the other streets , like 2nd,3rd, 6th, depending on which direction your coming from. Yes, I agree with other comment, it’s about time the “traffic and safety ” begin cracking down on those cars parked too close to intersection. Not everyone drives large SUV’s where they can see over the illegally parked cars.
4 way stop by 7th and somerset is great addition to Lakewood. Try it on 4th and forest next…
