Lakewood High School Basketball Team Moves Into Finals After Win Against Toms River North

The Lakewood H.S. Boys Varsity Basketball Team won the Toms River North H.S. in the Shore Conference Tournament (SCT) Semi Finals at Brookdale Community College Wednesday night with a score of 55 – 47, moving them into the finals.

Tyrice Beverette – who recently signed with Stony Brook University, scored 12 points in the first half, and ended up with 22 points for the game. Jared Craddox added 12 and Ben Watson added 8 more points.

With this win , Lakewood moves on to the SCT Finals against Pt. Beach. The game will be held at Monmouth University, West Long Branch at 3:00 pm on Saturday.

Lakewood played Pt. Beach earlier in the season and won with a score of 55-47 on February 2nd.

The last time Lakewood won the SCT was in 1991 vs. Lacey, when now Head Coach Randy Holmes played under the direction of former Head Coach John “Pott” Richardson. TLS.

  1. I would like to publicly thank TLS for bringing us thisnews tidbit. Although i send my children to a private religious school (for religious reasons), I am still very much a part of the broader Lakewood community, and I appreciate good news about our town’s sports teams.
