The Lakewood Fire Department is mourning the passing of Richard Weil, an exempt member of Engine Company #1.

Weil joined the department in 1974 and remained a proud member for many years, earning the respect and appreciation of those who served alongside him. He was also a member of the Ocean County Firemen’s Association and the Lakewood Exempt Firemen’s Association.

His passing is being felt throughout the department, where he was known as a dedicated and valued member.

As per his family, funeral services will be held privately in the near future.
