Starting December 9, there will be a new convenient way for people to connect to Lakewood’s businesses. Whether you’re on the road without phone numbers, or at home and not in the mood of looking it up a in the book, there’s a new option: ‘Lakewood Connection’. Now all you will need to remember is one number. That is 732 886 LKWD. It will directly connect you to the business of your choice.
It’s the number to the pizza shop, the number to the shoe maker and the number to hundreds of other Lakewood Businesses, so there’s no need to get frustrated when you can’t find a particular number anywhere. Its simple, it’s quick and it’s easy. 732-886-LKWD (5593).
Phase 1 of Lakewood Connection will include 1) Food related categories 2) Clothing related categories 3)Auto related categories and 4) Pharmacy related categories. More categories will be added soon.
Here is a brief overview into how the system works:
1)You will be prompted to press 1 if you know the name of the business you wish to reach. Press 2 to hear a list by category or 3 to leave a message.
If you press 1, the system will then tell you please say the name of the category or enter the first 2 letters of that category. For example, for restaurants press “RE” Then the system will tell you to put in the first 3 letters of the store you are trying to reach (i.e. for Glatt bite press “GLA”, and the system will then directly connect you to that store).
Helpful Hints and Tips
If a store begins with ‘THE” , for example THE Hat Box, leave out ‘THE’ and just type “HAT”. Also the word “AND” should be left out. An example would be “BO and BON”, just type in “BOB” .
This sounds like a good idea. Who is going to be running it? Will there be ad placements? Can a business opt out?
