[COMMUNICATED] VIDEO BELOW: Lakewood, N.J. The crown of Torah Jewry in America. Founded in 1943, by Hagoan Harav Aaron Kotler ztz”l, the Ir Hatorah of Lakewood has been very firmly rooted. Established upon a sacred holiness, it has consistently, upheld its mission of defining itself by its Torah presence. It certainly is no wonder that with a foundation like that, Lakewood has attracted numerous additional kehillos. Each Bais Midrash, each neighborhood, that has sprung up, over the decades, aspired to imbue Lakewood with their special flavor, imparting their unique beauty as a blend to the greater Lakewood community.
A prime example, is the blossoming presence of Belz. Striving to harness the beauty, of this Ir Hatorah and at the same time, reciprocate to all, Belz has been rooting itself with the values that have always been cherished in Lakewood. First and foremost, it has centered itself as a place for Torah and Tefillah.
the Belzer Kollel, has become a place where the sweet Kol of Torah resonates, constantly. It has become a community Kollel of sorts. Many Choshuver Talmudei Chachamim and Rabbanim from the neighborhood, find their place within these walls. A perfect setting with access to many Seforim, and of course the enthusiastic Kol Torah of Yungerleit deeply involved in their learning.
As well, the Belzer Bais Midrash is a vibrant place of Tefillah, where neighbors of all stripes, gather for davening.
Perhaps the most telling, the heart of the Belzer community, is the Rav Chesed organization. It is designed to help the needy of all walks of life, regardless of background. It is the hallmark of a Kehilla, seeking to encompass all, in its warm embrace. This is but one example, a sure indication of the passionate guidance of the Belzer Ruv, Shlita. The message to his Chassidim, always has been, and continues to be, one of reaching out and availing oneself to the greater community. Interacting with rest of Klal Yisroel to improve oneself and contribute to Klal Yisroel as a whole. It is his guiding mission statement, that has been well absorbed and highly prioritized.
Now, Belz Lakewood is reaching out to you. Specifically, those who value and treasure a Torah Chinuch for their children, can relate to our predicament. A fledgling Cheder and school that has seen such unbelievable growth, desperately needs a powerful infusion of funds, to stabilize them for the long run. As well, we’ve come real close to starting the construction on a recently purchased building/property for which funds are crucial to proceed.
We have set up a 40 hour “Charidy” campaign, Today, February 18 and Tomorrow, February 19, to enable us to achieve the stability we so desperately need.
Help us! Show us your support! There is so much at stake!
Close to 500 talmidim and talmidos depend on the success of this campaign!
Sixty plus staff members of immeasurable devotion, likewise, rely upon the outcome of this campaign!
Scores of serious Bnei Torah, so immersed in the life giving waters of Torah, too, are watching and waiting!
Let us unite in a Kiddush Hashem!
May we experience many opportunities to do for each other, and do for Hashem!
there is no link to the campaign and banner on top of the website does not link either.
I recall both Williamsburg and Boro Park when they both had large Litvish and Hasidish populations this is moradik the achdus and diversity. I hope Lakewood can continue to welcome Hasidim and make this a thriving community even more.
Reb dovid shlitah what about Monroe (and the new community they just opened near by called palm tree), perhaps they should welcoming lakewooders, but you know why they dont Reb Dovid? b.c. they understand A. they need every inch of room for their own familys and chesed starts at home, and B they understand we all have different minhagim and slightly different mehalach hachaim…and its best for everyone to live in their own community where they can be machshiv whats important to them…far shtei Reb Dovid?
@Dovid
Key word in Your post is “recall”. It is only Chasidish now. And Lakewood will look like that in 20 years. Not that I am against living with them B’achdus. But ultimately, there wont be any Litvish left.
I would love to help Belz but my shul here on Williams street has been trying to get a shul up for 4 years already and simply cant get the funds together, so I think I need to worry about my own shul first, but once that’s up I definitely will consider Belz
@duvid : I agree with you 100%. One should definitely help their own Shul and Moised, Yeshiva, before helping a random Chassidus that moved into Lakewood. All Yidden should help each other out, but everyone has to know their priorities.
its amazing how there are local mosdose all over Lakewood cant get a building up, and belz in 3 short years has already put up so many shul..wow we need to learn from them
ive been told they have some major supporters, look at the massive bais hamikdash style shul they build in E.Y. I know the weddings they do for the royal family cost perhaps more then our chasuna halls, so why aren’t their big money guys paying for their Lakewood Belz school as well??
I would love to see a Brisker shul and kheila in Lakewood, if anyone would like to start one, count me in!
Brisker on the Internet? Nu nu
I know this community well since i daven there often. I have seen them building up over the last few years and no, they are not being supported by any big money guys. They are afew young families without and major financial backing.
But heir secret to success is MESIRAS NEFESH! Every single member of their community will do whatever it takes for the success of their community. We Lakewoders have so much to learn form them!
These Belzers are amazing!
They have done so much for Lakewood in the last few years!
Let me tell you, they will reach there goal!
And we can only gain from helping them!
Perhaps before I consider supporting an outside institution (relative to BMG that I learnt for many years
and the shul that I currently daven and the yeshivas and schools that my kids attend it is an outside institution, no offense ) … I would like to know if the Belzer community shop in our stores and patronize our services. I just never see any of the many chassidim that moved here in any of our Lakewood stores or anywhere around town.
of course they do where else do you think they shop?
of course they do where else do you think they shop ??
Cool masmid, ever heard of Amazon? Belz the woman don’t drive where should see them, and who are referring too, our stores, our this, our that, who is our?? Aren’t we all one big family
MAY THEY GET TO THEIR GOAL AND BE MATZLIACH IN ALL THEY DO.
