A Lakewood business-owner is looking to thank the gentleman who found and returned his wife’s wallet this afternoon.
Mr. Fischer of Fisher Roofing says his wife received a knock at the door, and there stood an approximately 30-year-old man with her wallet he said he found in a local grocery store parking lot.
The Louis Vuitton wallet contained a couple thousand dollars and credit cards, says Mr. Fischer.
“I know a lot of stuff is said in Lakewood of non-Jewish people, here there was a black gentleman going out of his way to help a frum Jewish lady,” he said.
When his wife offered him a reward, he said, “I don’t want any – just do a good deed back to someone else.”
“I would wish I knew his name so I can thank him, or or at least give him a free gutter cleaning!” says Mr. Fischer.

I know Mr. Fischer personally. He is a great big mench and most definetly the best roofer ever. 732-589-ROOF is his office number. Definetly think everyone should call him.
Wow! Wish the world had more people like that.
Great story. But please do not walk around with a few thousand dollars in your wallet. Louis Vuitton will be moichel you. No worries
I don’t understand was it Mrs. Dis hers wallet or Lois Vittons
Quote: “I know alot of stuff is said in Lakewood of non-Jewish people”.
Really? What do you hear said of non-Jewish people? All I see is a local media obsessed with bashing the Jewish community, a publication and website laced from top to bottom with pure hatred, pure Anti-Semitism, the kinda stuff found in pre WW-II and Nazi publications.
So I’m not sure what you mean. And frankly; you could’ve written your post and left that little sentence out.
Beautiful story! I just wish people would take the word black out of their vocabulary. Imagine people said “there was a long nosed (Jewish) person at my door)”. I don’t know, I was just brought up that we don’t refer to someone by the color of their skin. Any African American out there can weigh in on this? Am I wrong? But definitely huge kudos to this gentleman. God should bless you and your family with only good forever!! Amen!!
“Bmiddah Shadom bo modin osoh” Mr. Fischer is a example of how one should treat others. My relationship is having had him do some roof work for me and of all the service providers his conduct stands out.
