Lakewood Board of Education to hold Special Meeting on Budget

[Public Notice] In accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act, P.L. 1975 c. 231 this is to advise that the Lakewood Board of Education will

conduct a Special Meeting, on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 7:30 a.m. in the Commons located at the Lakewood High School, 855 Somerset Avenue, Lakewood, New Jersey 08701.  The agenda known at this time is as follows:

I. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE – PRESIDENT, LAKEWOOD BOARD OF EDUCATION
II. ROLL CALL
III. RECOGNITION OF THE PUBLIC  
IIII. REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR/ BOARD SECRETARY:
A. TO DISCUSS THE 2019-2020 BUDGET, ESY, MANDATED SERVICES, STAFF, ETC.

  1. Technical glitch in State Budget voids LSTA extension. Language in the State Budget to extend the LSTA for another year was expressly conditioned on receipt of SPECIAL TRANSPORTATION AID. That aid was part of the $30 million cut from the budget. District needs to resume running nonpublic education.
