BREAKING: Multiple UPS Trucks on Fire Inside UPS Facility in Lakewood; Explosions Heard [VIDEOS & PHOTOS]

Firefighters are battling a fire at the UPS facility in Lakewood, where multiple trucks are on fire.

The fire reportedly started inside a truck full of packages, and then apparently spread to the structure and other nearby trucks.

The fire has been upgraded to a third alarm.

There are no reports of injuries, but heavy damage is being reported, along with the loss of many packages.

Vassar Avenue is blocked by emergency vehicles, and only pedestrian traffic to the Fountain Ballroom and Keser Moshe Yehuda wedding halls is permitted at this time.

All wedding hall parking has been diverted to the Orchas Chaim parking lot, where Chaveirim is directing traffic.

UPDATE: Multiple trucks have been destroyed, reportedly along with hundreds of packages of mail.

Arson is not being ruled out at this time, officials told TLS.

UPDATE – Thursday: Officials tell TLS it appears the fire started from lithium batteries inside a package. Investigators have not yet released the official cause.

  1. is there any way to know what is the status of our packages? many businesses have lot of shipments sent and it will cause huge headache

  2. Maybe be in touch with the UPS driver that picks up from you to find out if your packages were admitted yet or wasn’t unloaded yet as it takes sometime for it to be unloaded from the truck. (and of course ask the driver if he is okay and show some empathy)

The manager of the place is very bad. He deserves this. He called the police on me and got me banned from the property all because I didn’t notice the sign and went in the ‘authorized personal only’ area.

      • So what are you trying to say? That after the guy says he is sorry, he didn’t notice the sign, it is still proper to call the police on him and ban him from the property forever?!

  4. hope that sweetheart of a guy that mans the front desk is ok and maybe now he can remove all cones that he uses to block all handicap spots in front of the building
