Jackson Police this morning issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) after a reported attempted stabbing at a Wawa in Jackson.
The suspect may be heading into Lakewood in a red Volkswagen Jetta with Florida license plates. He is described as a tall, bald white male wearing a red shirt.
A witness who was at the scene spoke exclusively to TLS about what unfolded. The witness, who had pulled into the Wawa to get a coffee, said the incident began when the suspect, who was in a red car, opened his car door and nicked the red car parked next to him.
The other driver cleaned off the nick on his car, went inside and got his drinks, and when he came back out, the suspect began yelling at him and the confrontation escalated, the witness said.
The suspect “came out of his car holding a knife” and chased the other man around the lot, the witness said. The suspect then got back into his car, pulled out of his parking spot and “tried to run the guy over,” braking at the last second, before he “whipped out of there” and fled.
The witness said the Jetta pulled out of the Wawa parking lot at about 10:04 AM and went down East Veterans toward Lakewood, and may have gone down Central or Cross.
“We are trying to find the plate for the red Volkswagen Jetta,” the witness said, asking that anyone with cameras in those areas check their footage. Anyone with the vehicle’s license plate or more information should call Jackson Police immediately at 732-928-1111.
Police are actively looking for the suspect. Anyone who spots the suspect or vehicle should call 911 immediately and should not approach him.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.

Many sources say that a married Jewish woman who covers her hair with a cloth is preferrable to using a wig of human hair shorn off a hindu idol worshipper and this merit will protect Lakewood from any tragedy and this includes Jackson and Toms River as well.
So there were two red cars? Wow, guy wearing red T-shirt in red car – a bright red flag!
Who was it who wiped the nick off his car? It sounds like the one who got it. So why would the one who did it be upset?
The picture is not of a Jetta but rather a red Audi I assume that is from another incident
