From the Lakewood Utility Advisory Committee: The following is a link to an eye opening petition that addresses the concerns of each and everyone who utilizes the services of Jersey CentralPower and Light Company (JCP&L), it is certainly worth a few minutes of your time, to check it out.
http://jcplshowusthemoney.org/
The petition reads as follows:
The State of New Jersey’s Division of Rate Counsel has evidence that JCP&L’s electric rates are too high by as much as $90 million a year. The BPU has not evaluated JCP&L’s rates for six years. The BPU must always protect ratepayers against unreasonable prices and treat JCP&L customers fairly.
Please do your duty and order JCP&L to file a base rate case and review its books. If JCP&L is charging its one million customers too much, lower our electric rates.
Thank you for protecting New Jersey ratepayers.
Sincerely,
This is a joke the BPU is a rubber stamp for any rate increase that JCP&L ask for. This petition will get the same lip service that Obama gave to his petition. JCP&L can cook the books to show any result they need to show.
Is the petition looking to lower the supply charge or the delivery charge? I’m going to assume the delivery charge, because otherwise everyone can just switch to Viridian etc.
The money is going towards salaries. We should privatize this company and then we can save money.
Don’t you guys see this is a clear joke….. Nobody can stop JCPL or utility department….
One answer……..

JCP&L is a private company, it’s owned by First Energy out of Akron, Ohio so rethink your comment.
Forensic audit …..
most of lineman are paid for sleeping in hotels when the rest of us have no power. they work 16 hour days, and after a storm with major power outages, make over 30k after taxes for the storm in OT, on top of a six digit salary…..nuts. thats for one storm, one week, 30k….??????? nuts
#6, Where did you find your information, my dad works for jcp&l as a lineman, for over 40 years, he does not make anywhere near what you have stated. With all due respect make sure you’re stating facts so your next post does not make you look foolish.
