Jackson Township officials announced that work on the Township’s 2025 Capital Road Improvement Program is scheduled to begin in the coming weeks, with construction expected to continue through the Spring of 2027.

The program represents approximately $1.645 million in publicly bid and contracted roadway, traffic safety, and pedestrian-safety improvements.

Work will include the milling and repaving of various roadways throughout the Township, along with upgrading existing curb ramps to be ADA-compliant. Targeted traffic-calming measures will also be implemented along identified problem corridors to improve safety for both motorists and pedestrians, including new striping and signage upgrades, as well as the installation of radar speed feedback signs and speed tables (modern speed humps) at select locations.

Mayor Jennifer Kuhn identified infrastructure improvements, with an emphasis on traffic safety, traffic calming, and pedestrian safety, as one of her priorities upon being sworn in as Mayor in October 2025. The start of these projects marks an important step toward addressing roadway needs that, according to the Mayor, have gone unaddressed for years.

“I am extremely excited to see these improvements finally moving forward. Addressing our roads and infrastructure was one of the first things I tackled after being sworn in as Mayor, and now, a year later, we are beginning projects that residents have been waiting far too long to see completed,” said Mayor Kuhn. “Our residents deserve properly maintained roads, safer intersections, and infrastructure that reflects the needs of our growing community. I am proud to see this program moving from planning to construction, and I look forward to seeing these improvements come to fruition.”

Roadways included in the 2025 Capital Road Improvement Program:

  • Linda Drive: Milling and repaving from Hope Chapel Road to White Road.
  • Louisiana Parkway: Milling and repaving from New Hampshire Street to Brookwood Parkway, with additional roadway improvements in the vicinity of the intersections of Illinois Drive, New Hampshire Street, Alaska Avenue, and Nevada Court.
  • Calvary Court, Shepherds Way & Mt. Olive Lane: Full-width milling and repaving, including ADA-compliant curb ramp reconstruction.
  • Durell Drive: Full-width milling and repaving, including ADA-compliant curb ramp reconstruction.
  • Stonehenge Court: Isolated full-width roadway repaving at the intersection of Stonehenge Court to repair a failed pavement section.
  • Bartley Road: Sidewalk installation on the west side of the roadway from Cedar Knoll Court to Holbrook Little League, including driveway apron improvements, base repairs, and ADA-compliant curb ramp reconstruction.
  • South New Prospect Road: Sidewalk installation and driveway apron improvements along the east side of the roadway between Bethel Church Road and Pointe Circle.

The program also includes traffic-calming and roadway safety improvements at several additional locations:

  • Beam Avenue: Installation of four speed tables, including associated striping and signage between Tilford Street and Manhattan Street.
  • Manhattan Street: Installation of four radar speed feedback signs, traffic-calming striping, and signage improvements.
  • Patterson Road: Installation of two speed tables, with associated striping and signage.
  • Woodlane Road: Installation of four radar speed signs and traffic-calming striping.
  • Yorkshire Drive & Buckingham Drive: Installation of six speed radar feedback signs, traffic-calming striping, and signage improvements.

The Township held its preconstruction meeting on October 7, 2026, with representatives from the contractor (L&L Paving), the Township Engineer’s office (T&M Associates), the Police Traffic Safety Unit, and the Department of Public Works participating in the project coordination process.

Work is expected to continue into early 2027, weather and construction conditions permitting. Residents traveling through affected areas should anticipate temporary construction activity, possible delays, and changes in traffic patterns as work progresses. Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution, obey posted signs, and follow any temporary traffic directions.

“These projects are about more than paving roads. They are about investing in our neighborhoods, improving accessibility, addressing traffic concerns, and taking care of the infrastructure our residents rely on every day,” Mayor Kuhn added. “I am committed to continuing this work and making sure infrastructure needs remain a priority for Jackson Township.”
