This week marked the shloshim of those who perished in the Har Nof attack. In honor of the Shloshim, the following idea was suggested to Ira Zlotowitz – an idea which was quickly put into action.
“As we kindle the Chanukah lights and exchange gifts with our immediate family, think of how touching it would be if we sent a personal message to our new extended family in Har Nof,: says Zlotowitz. “It would be such a wonderful way to demonstrate to them in a tangible way that we are still thinking of them. The thought of those children lighting the menorah without their father is almost too much to bear; it certainly strikes a chord of pity in all of our hearts.”
A website has been set up to enable you to submit a personal note. ArtScroll/Mesorah Publications has graciously offered to compile all of the notes that are submitted into a hard cover Heirloom book, which will be presented to the families.
You can submit your letters online here: https://www.hugharnof.com/?s=euc
Zolotowitz added, “You cannot even imagine the sense of security and comfort the families have, knowing that not only did Klal Yisroel feel their pain, but that all of you generously contributed with one heart. They would certainly cherish forever supportive messages received from thousands of people.”
“May you and your families have an uplifting and happy Chanukah, and may we never know any more sorrow.”
