With temperatures dropping rapidly tonight to the single digits, take a few minutes to prevent freezing around your property by spreading salt this afternoon.

The wet roads, sidewalks stairs and other surfaces will turn to black ice, posing a serious danger to motorists and pedestrians.

Last year, there were numerous accidents and personal injuries during a similar scenario.

With Monday being a holiday, think about limiting travel to later in the day when temperatures rise.
