Immigration Reform: Citizenship Possible for Kids Brought to U.S., Lance says

U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance said Congress would likely favor a path to citizenship for infants and children of people who immigrated to America illegally, but that he’d have a hard time supporting it “for those who came here illegally as adults.”

Lance, who represents the state’s 7th district, made the remark at a filled town hall-style meeting at the Long Hill Township Municipal Building Tuesday.

  1. I am against this. Do it right or go home. Too many people have been waiting to do it legally and too many have done it legally to just give people a free pass. Plus, does everyone just forget the fact that they are here ILLEGALLY in the first place? They didn’t come in good faith, what makes them deserve any hand out? Makes no difference if they were brought here as children. Still ILLEGAL.

  2. To # 1 while I agree that we should not be making it easy for anyone who enters illegally to get a free pass, children on the other hand have no choice if there parents do come here illegally .I think there can be a resolution to this make them citizens if the law requires the parents to go through the proper channel to citizenship then the children will automatically get citizenship too
