IDF Soldiers From Lakewood Ask For Tehillim As Operation ‘Pillar of Defense’ Rocks Region

PHOTO: IDF Soldiers from Lakewood currently in combat in Israel, are asking for the commuity’s Tfillos as the Operation Pillar of Defense continues to rock the region.

Yaakov Ben Dina and Yisroel Ben Yael, along with other colleagues are among the thousands of Israeli soldiers called to duty after this morning’s assasination (video below) of senior Hamas Military Chief Ahmed Jabari following days of rocket attacks on Israel.

“I wanted to let you know that there’s at least 3 soldiers that I know from Lakewood including myself that are serving in combat units in the IDF, if you can please out an article for people to say Tehillim”, Yaakov wrote TLS.

The situation in the region deteriorated after the assassination, with Hamas threatening further attacks deeper into Israel.

  1. May Hashem watch over all the soldiers as they literally put their lives on the line to protect all those living in Eretz Yisrael. A Jewish army is not a new concept. Along with those who are spiritually protecting Eretz Yisrael, we need those who are physically protecting Eretz Yisrael. The least we can do is keep them in mind in our tefillos and say tehillim for their safety . This is our hakaras hatov to these brave young men who venture out into the cold and the dark, leaving behind the warmth and light of their homes, where their anxious parents daven for their safe return.

  2. No matter what your opinion of the medinah is, these soldiers are our yiddishe brothers and we must Daven for them. I am sure everyone is aware that Rav Chaim Shmulevits stated unequivocally during the Yom Kippur War that the status of the soldiers in the IDF was equivalent to that of the Harugei Lud (Sichas Mussar page 457).

  3. thanks you TLS for being the one outlet where tehillim is mentioned to be said. every shul should be saying tehillim after every tefillah, considering the hurricane & devastation, and now this dangerous matzav. yet in the shuls I have been in, not 1 said it.

  4. i fully back IDF and the people of Israel.

and to #7 – LET THE PEOPLE SENDING ROCKETS INTO ISRAEL WORRY ABOUT THE “innocent Palestinian civilians”.
