Howell Township has released its fall 2026 leaf collection schedule, with curbside pickup set to begin on or about Monday, November 16, weather permitting.
Crews will begin simultaneously in multiple zones throughout the township, and residents can begin placing their leaves out for collection now. The collection is for residential properties only.
The township is reminding residents of the guidelines: leaves only, as mixed piles will not be collected. Piles should be placed at the edge of the curb and not in the traffic lane, leaves must not be bagged, and piles should be kept clear of storm inlets to prevent flooding. Residents whose properties border wooded areas are encouraged to instead blow the leaves into the woods, where they can decompose naturally.
The last collection is scheduled to start on or about Monday, December 14, and leaves must be placed at the curb no later than December 13. Once crews make the final pass on a street, they will not be returning.
Leaves and brush can also be brought year-round to the township’s Recycling Center at 278 Old Tavern Road, open Tuesday through Sunday, 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM. No permit is required, but proof of residency must be provided.
