The Howell Township Council unanimously approved a resolution tonight condemning hate, anti-Semitism and affirming its support for the Jewish community.
The vote, which passed 4-0, followed several hours of testimony from several dozen people, including Palestinian sympathizers and Neturei Karta members (dressed up as Jews), who spoke both in favor and in opposition to the resolution.
The meeting also comes several weeks after a billboard with the words, “Stand with Humanity. Stand with Palestine,” appeared on Route 9 in Howell, leading to many calls for its removal.
The billboard was taken down last week.
According to the text of the resolution posted prior to the meeting on the township website, the Township of Howell “strongly condemns and denounces all instances of antisemitism occurring in the United States and globally; and “rejects all forms of terror, hate, discrimination, and harassment of members of the Jewish community.”
During the meeting, the council amended the resolution to condemn hate in more general terms but the exact text was not immediately available.

I’m so excited that this resolution passed this is exactly what we needed now I can go to sleep feeling much safer.
Thank you everybody who went out there made themselves into a fool.
The passed resolution was amended to condemn all hatred and differs from the original posted resolution as it acknowledged the input from all in attendance including those who came to speak up for Palestine.
Sounds like someOne is trying to wake us up from our “Shalom yihyeh li, ki bishrirus libi alaich” slumber…
Can someone explain why that billboard is anti-Semitic?
