PHOTOS: Authorities this morning are investigating a home burglary which occurred sometime during the night, the homeowner tells TLS. The perpetrator reportedly made entry through an unlocked window of the Brookhill residence and proceeded to burglarize the home’s main floor, all while the family slept upstairs.
The brazen thief made off with small change and a child’s game boy before exiting through the back sliding door.

Where are the usual comments blaming this on someone. It’s probably either the slumlord’s fault, the police’s fault, LCSW’s fault, or Bush’s fault.
Or maybe its Hashem’s message that we should stop sinaas chinam. Or that we should stop blaming everyone else.

I dont think the theif was “brazen”! If he would have broken a window maybe. If the homeowner left a window unlocked, the thief aint brazen!

Is that what someone risks his life for by breaking into a home?

The theif entered the unlocked car….
The burglar entered through an unlocked window….
The house was robbed via an unlocked door…

LCSW while an important part of the community can still not be everywhere at the same time. You still need to take precautions at home to ensure you and your family are safe before you go to bed..lock all lower windows and doors..if you must keep a window open, open a bedroom window..dont make it ez for them to get in..
The Pd are all over but when its busy ITS BUSY..they can’t be everywhere all the time..
If its the first thing they see then no, it isn’t unusual
In coventry and many other areas in lakewood about a year ago there was a slew of buglaries with the exact same “symptoms” .(At the time it was extensively covered by TLS) The guy was caught, sat for three months and worked out some deal with the prosecutor. He’s now roaming the streets again. I bet its the same guy.
unfortunately, as long as windows and doors remain unlocked,there is a greater chance that people will fall victim to burglaries . It might be a good idea to post reminders near the doors, fridge, or where ever one will see them, in bold letters,” check locks on windows & doors before leaving or retiring for the night.” hopefully, this will act as a deterrent .
